Hobby?

Recently I've been thinking about getting a real hobby. I've dabbled with many things, most of the time not going anywhere. Fanfiction writing? Have been there, have done that. Photography? The same. But it never goes beyond the first approach. I lack the capacity of staying with and pursuing something. Of putting work into something that I do enjoy. I usually quit when it gets even slightly difficult, even if I do enjoy it. Maybe what I need is not a new hobby, but just a change in my approach of many of my past-times. I do not do anything else than Japanese and reading, do I? The point is I usually quit feeling that I am not creative enough.
When it comes to games or TV series (or films, too) - usually my attention span is just too short to make it a passion.
I'd really like to get a level in something that is high enough for me to enjoy doing it and to enjoy the result. So the question is - why can't I focus? Is there no dedication?
Here, have meme:

Take Up A Serious Hobby

You're an intellectual and you know how you use your mind, so you'd rather not take breaks from it. You can always think out a situation and know what needs to be done. The only thing that frustrates you is not being valued.

Our Potentially Ridiculous Hobby Suggestion For You:
Origami
You can make cool origami stuff with plain paper, wrapping paper, magazine paper, you name it. It's a good skill to learn.

In my opinion you can't force it to find a real hobby. It comes to you, just like the realisation about a job or something. I tried desparately trying to find something I really like. About 10 years I tried this and that.. and in the end..the only real hobby I found and love and adore is knitting ^^° And that I only discovered as a side effect :D

Hey, Origami is fun! ^.~ (Says I, who can fold a whooping total of two origami figures, some kind of bird and a rat. And the only reason I can fold a rat is because the "Hello, the game is being installed on your PS3! This might take a moment. In the meantime, why don't you follow these instructions and fold yourself the origami figure on the game's cover! :D" instructions that came with my latest videogame purchase. *coughs*)

But yeah, hobbies are... a bit of a tricky subject. I mean, I would definitely call gaming my hobby, but I'm sad that none of my current hobbies is creative. I mean, I used to write and love it so much! ... I should probably just go and finish that half-written post I have on the subject of me, the process of writing, the end product of the same, what it all means to me and what I want etc etc. Which would require motivation...

Ich pack jetzt noch zwei, drei Kisten und schau mal, wie produktiv ich danach noch bin. ^^;

Das wäre auch mal 'ne Idee. XD
